Abstract

In recent years, the number of students graduated from the faculties of economics and administrative sciences and who can not find a job is increasing rapidly in our country. Therefore, career planning of students is one of the areas whom professors in academia, students should be more active. In this study, social cognitive career theory was used to investigate what stages of the certified public accountant (CPA) profession are in the career planning of the students and what are the criteria that are effective in choosing or not choosing a profession. Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) model as a useful tool to explain how students’ career interests, goals, and intentions are related to their self-efficacy beliefs and outcome expectations. Results showed that the goal to become a certified public accountant (CPA) was significantly and positively correlated with the selfefficacy and outcome expectations.
