Abstract
Abstract Alan Martin trained as a Child Care Officer at the North Western Polytechnic, qualifying in 1966. He worked in Local Authority Children's Departments and Social Services Departments until 1979, when he joined the N.S.P.C.C. to take up his current position of Special Unit Leader. He is married and has two teenage sons. His special interests are the psychodynamic understanding of family functioning and bereavement counselling.
