Abstract
This article calls upon African and other social and environmental scientists to actively engage with the ongoing deliberations seeking to define post-2015 development goals and framework. The article argues that these deliberations offer a window of opportunity for African social and environmental scientists to avail their research findings and also to actively participate in these deliberations. The article suggests practical ways by which African and other social and environmental scientists can step out of the comfort of the ivory tower and engage meaningfully with this ongoing global goal-setting policy deliberation that will shape development discourse and practice for several years after 2015.
