Abstract

The text explores a field of study that usually occupies little space in magazines and academic texts: script writing fiction and whether that script can be considered an audiovisual job and / or literary. In order to achive this aim the literature is analyzed (often focused more from a professional point of view than academic) and the various positions that are maintained on the place of the script in the audiovisual field by the approach of six basic questions that are establishing as a reflexion on the office, vocation, the valuation and habits of the script writer as a writer and also as a filmmaker. It is, thus, an essay that attempts to stake and claim the position of the filmmaker in the audiovisual industry and also claim for their role as a writer, basing the meaning of their work and also claiming their position in the audiovisual industry by bringing into play the contributions of writers, filmmakers, screenwriters and academics who have previously thought about these issues, relating them and building a clear storyline that concludes accurately with the commitment of recognizing the writer in the universe of fictional creation.
