Abstract
The intended aim of this text is to establish meaningful connections. Firstly, to find links between the two facts which characterized the beginning of the new century – the September 11th 2001 attack and the ensuing anti-war demonstrations which began on February 15th 2003, concerning the war against Iraq. Secondly, it tries to understand the links between the discourse of the media after the attack and the decision taken by American decision makers to wage war. Finally, it identifies the role played by new media in world mobilisation. The text focuses on historical events (S11 and F15) and the media which take part in those historical events (newspapers, television and the Internet).
