Abstract

The results of the snow measurement at logged sites in fir-Siberian pine forests of the Yenisey Ridge in 2006–2011 are presented. Orographic and biotopic features of snow accumulation in the stands of different forest regeneration stages are considered. The snow cover depth and snow pack are determined by the altitude and topography of this region that form “barrier-shadow” effects. On the local level, the characteristics of snow cover are related to duration after logging, the species composition of young forests, and the logging technology.
