Abstract

Abstract SnO2 nanofibers were successfully prepared in porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template by sol-gel-template method. The microstructures and electrochemical properties of SnO2 nanofibers were studied. SEM images indicate that SnO2 nanofibers are uniformly distributed and parallel to each other. The SnO2 nanofiber possesses a tubular structure. The XRD pattern shows that the nanofibers are cassiterite SnO2. Good cycling performance could be obtained when the SnO2 nanofibers were used as electrodes in the Li-ion batteries. The electrodes could have high capacity and still retain the ability to discharge and recharge through many cycles.
