Abstract

SNO+ is an operating liquid scintillator neutrino detector. Filling with liquid scintillator was completed in April 2021. Previously, SNO+ took water-filled data and also made measurements of backgrounds during scintillator partial-fill. These measurements (included physics results) enable SNO+ to quantify backgrounds for our final objective, the search for neutrinoless double beta decay when tellurium is loaded in the liquid scintillator detector at 0.5% by weight. This article highlights several measurements made by SNO+ and summarizes the status and outlook of the experiment.
