Abstract
Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome (KTS) is an uncommon congenital disease consisting of the presence of cutaneous angiomas, varicose veins, and hypertrophy of soft tissue and bone that usually affects one of the lower extremities. The clinical presentation is highly variable, and occasionally may involve different regions, such as lumbar spine, pelvic organs, or birth canal. These situations usually require obstetric and anaesthetic management. In addition, these patients can present with bleeding or thrombotic complications and haemostasis disorders. A case is presented on the use of epidural analgesia for vaginal delivery in a pregnant woman with KTS.The current evidence on KTS is discussed, as well as the special considerations for the anaesthetic and obstetrical management in pregnant women.
