Abstract

Tawny Frogmouths Podargus strigoides have a diverse diet predominantly comprised of invertebrates. In contrast, vertebrates are only occasionally reported as prey. Records of reptiles as prey are scarce and no reptilian prey has been identified to species level. This is the first documented observation of a Tawny Frogmouth taking a live snake.
