Abstract
At its recent meeting, the Board of Governors unanimously voted to move forward on a roadmap path to consolidate the Hollywood Post Alliance (HPA) into SMPTE by May 2015. The first step in this roadmap is a nine-month agreement, whereby SMPTE will provide administrative support for the HPA back-office operations, starting 1 July 2014. At the same time, sub-groups will be working out details related to corporate structure, governance, membership, operations, and branding. Once that work is completed and both Boards are satisfied, the actual effort of consolidation will take place in early 2015.
