Abstract

The lauching of SMC Ondisc in may 1996 marked another milestone in the history of the National University of Singapore Library. It is our fisrts regional joint venture with Informit, the commercial arm of the Royal Melbourne Institute of technology. SMC Ondisc, the first bibliographic CR-ROM produced byt a tertiary institution library in Singapore, was issued also to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the National University of Singapore. The first issue of SMC Ondisc had over 100 000 bibliographic citations on Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and Asean (as an entity). By Vol. 2 n°1, its size increased to over 127 000 citations and vwill be expanding significantly over the years. SMC Ondisc comprises of theree databases which are as follows: PERIND, Singapore/Malaysia Collection, national unviersity of Singapore these Collections
