Abstract

Health monitoring has been an engaging topic especially during the pandemic among medical practitioners and IT professionals. Thus, it is important to monitor the health condition anytime and anywhere. However, there are not many applications that are able to measure the body temperature through mobile app. Measuring both the body temperature and the heart rate using apps will ease us to monitor our health condition. Hence, in this study a mobile application is proposed to measure the heart rate and the body temperature based on photoplethysmogram via the external device that is designed, equipped with Arduino Nano and temperature sensors. This proposed method is able to correlate the body temperature and heart rate values in determining a person’s health condition. Here, all the values are stored in the app for health monitoring purpose. To evaluate the users’ acceptance level, acceptance and system testing are conducted. Initial findings showed that the proposed apps are indeed suitable to be used as health monitoring based on temperature and heart rate measurements with 64% satisfactory as chosen by the respondents.
