Abstract
The continuing growth of e-commerce places more importance on how shipments are safely and conveniently received when customers are away from home during the delivery time. With advancement in IoT and communication technology, we have designed and developed a smart VoIP postbox system which enables the parcel/mail courier to communicate with the user with the push of a button. The user can inspect the parcel via one-way video communication, remotely open the postbox, and confirm the receipt. A prototype system has been created and demonstrated to be commercially feasible.
