Abstract

The paper studies the current situation of smart urban development in Vietnam, thereby proposing solutions and recommendations to stakeholders to develop smart cities in the coming time. By using qualitative research methods, such as: aggregation, regression and interpretation, on the basis of assessing the current situation of smart urban development in Vietnam, a number of proposals and recommendations to stakeholders are made to target smart urban development in Vietnam, such as: (i) Investing in infrastructure and technology; (ii) Building data-based ecosystems; (iii) Engaging people in smart city planning and implementation; (iv) Promoting sustainability and green technology; and (v) Strengthening public-private cooperation
