Abstract
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is one of the leading organizations for applied research in Germany and Europe. Its core purpose is the pursuit of knowledge of practical utility. The Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS is focusing on smart systems integration by using micro and nano technologies. Smart systems integration addresses the demand for miniaturized, multi-functional, self-organizing systems with an interface for communication. The technologies for smart systems and their integration significantly influence the competitiveness of different branches like aeronautics, automotive engineering, security applications, logistics, as well as medical and process engineering. Fraunhofer ENAS accesses on a broad variety of technologies and methods for smart systems integration.
