Smart Sensing based Societal Applications in Public Cloud Environment

Abstract

Sensors in mobile phones have revolutionized many sectors of our economy by proposing constructive sensing applications in the fields like environmental monitoring, education, healthcare, transportation, social networking, etc. Methodology to integrate smart sensors in cloud will provide feasible solution. Sensing application is vast in number but to render the services, several sensor networks require huge infrastructure costs for providing services in cloud. Smart sensing public cloud framework is deployed in-order to use the public cloud services and reduce the infrastructure costs. This framework has two main objectives: 1) To develop a framework to incorporate smart sensing in Cloud environment 2) To implement societal based sensing applications in-order to provide sensing services. Nowadays, every common man owns a smart phone with Global Positioning System support. The people encountering an emergency situation need to send an SOS request using the mobile phone. During emergency situations, this framework provides a solution to connect you with your family always and ensure safety and support with the help of your smart phone.
