Abstract
Large electrolyzer plants are needed to meet the world's demand for hydrogen. Most of the installation costs for an electrolyzer plant are incurred during production. Therefore, this article aims to illustrate a reference process for automation by assembling hydrogen tube fittings. The assembly process has not been automated yet; Thus, the physical operating principle is elaborated and implemented in a demonstrator. The process is examined simulatively and transferred in a robot cell to determine the required functionality. It is mapped entirely and optimized in the simulation, while the real demonstration shows a successful functional test of the physical operating principle.
