Abstract
The article reveals relevant aspects of China’s smart power policy applied to the Asia-Pacific region. Smart power is considered as a synthesis of soft and hard diplomatic strategies, which allows modern China to effectively achieve its foreign policy goals in the region. Problems of realization of “soft power” policy are noted, factors of counteraction to strengthening China’s foreign policy influence in the Asia-Pacific region are revealed.
