Abstract

The exhaust gases emissions from the vehicles that run on the gasoline and diesel release large amounts of harmful gaseous pollutants into the environment. These pollutants not only harm the environment but also causes serious health issues for human beings, so there is a need to control and monitor the emissions from the vehicles, a measurement is made for the emissions of the vehicles. The sole purpose of this tool is to pave the way for consumer or owner of vehicles to beware of the emissions from the vehicles. The hardware components to be used in making this tool are Arduino UNO board which has atmega32 has microcontroller, mq2 and mq7 gas sensors for sensing the constituents of exhaust gases, smart for viewing the detailed amounts of sensed pollutants on your screen and Bluetooth module for transferring the data from controller to smart phone, also the software to be used is Arduino IDE and App inventor. The methodology adopted in this study is theoretical method which includes the ideology of developing the functional smart motor vehicle exhaust gas sensor, construction and testing. The pollutants like oxides of carbon (CO, CO2) and hydrocarbons are able to measure and monitor by looking at the smart phone on which data will be displayed.
