Abstract

Recent rapid advancement of wireless communication prevails wireless user terminals by high density in space. This spread of wireless equipments leads to high congestion of electromagnetic environment, therefore innovative metasurface working as “electromagnetic field coordinator” is immensely desirable in order to support highly reliable communication. In this paper, a smart metasurface with non-reciprocity for fog layer in IoT environment is proposed and prototype implementation by slot-ring resonator with switchable FET isolator is examined as a proof of concept. The presented structure exhibits full transmission control feature by external applied bias voltage to FET. This type of smart metasurface implementation can provide stable and reliable IoT communication environment.
