Abstract

This manuscript provides a smart IoT system design of monitoring 3-phase generators for the manufacturer to implement product maintenances and after-sales services efficiently. This system consists of a smart control module, a client system and a server system. Based on a power meter SoC, the smart control module can measure and record the power statuses of generators and conduct their ON/OFF remote control. The client system located in customer is an embedded system with the functions of user interface, power data gathering through the smart control module, and internet communication. The statuses of all generators in customers are monitored and recorded into both the client system (customer) and the server system (manufacturer), simultaneously by which the maintenance engineers can implement proactive product maintenances and provide more efficient services. In addition, this system can be applied for the maintenances of other electrical machines.
