Abstract
AbstractHome energy is such a service mechanism and a set of products as well as a market that is hugely thriving due to its facilitation in home energy management. It facilitates its users to control through its control hub that communicates and connect with the support of digital device all across the home.It is based on both hardware and software technology program that enables the users to effectively manage it manually in the household premises (Batchu and Pindoriya, Social-Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering, LNICST, 154, 2015). It is quite obvious that energy management, using Demand Management (DM) technique plays a very significant role in the smart grid (SG) domain. It must be mentioned and noted that both the smart meters and energy management controllers are very important as well as essentials components of smart grid (SG) in the way of smart energy management system. Smart meters and energy management controllers functioning make the whole system very promising in the process of making efficient energy management. In almost all the countries, especially in the western world, and few in the developing nations also, lots of research have already been done, and still it is going on, on Energy management System (EMS) for the effective determination of devices that ensures efficient flow of energy in order to save energy. Most of the current research focuses on to organize the power of residential units in an optimized manner.It is indeed a fact that the intelligent energy optimization protocols and its techniques also plays a very important role in the electric bill reduction with the support of scheduling home appliances. However, by the scheduling of the equipment/devices the consumers receives variable cost as per the electricity consumed (Lobaccaro et al., Energies, 9(5), 2016). That available utility lets consumers to set their devices in order to reduce in electricity bills and also peak demand reduction. It also facilitates to immediately shut down devices through direct load control programs if there is an emergency. Many researches undertaken by different scholars on Energy Management System (EMS) that shows very tremendous output. This research work proposes an efficient EMS to control the load in different residential units. Herein, Meta-heuristic algorithms have been applied optimizing users energy consumption. This research work also applied and used in the areas of minimizing consumer’s waiting-time. Really, this waiting-time is the inverse of the peak of the total cost and average ratio (PAR) The prime motive behind all these are to maintain optimal energy, reducing energy cost without compromising production capacity and quality. The mechanism proposed to install will reduce environmental impacts also. Thus, by using Energy management system will sharply decrease the power consumption and will be more environmental friendly also (Khamphanchai et al., Proceedings of the 2015 IEEE Innovative Smart Grid Technologies - Asia, ISGT ASIA 2015, 2016).
