Abstract

This article deals with Smart Grid technologies and their applications in electromobility, such as Vehicle-to grid. In the introduction, motivation for establishment of these technologies is outlined. Second part is dedicated to general description of Smart Grid, its advantages, and disadvantages. Pilot projects in European Union and the planned strategy in the Czech Republic are further mentioned. Also, predecessor of Smart Grid is presented - ripple control systems allowing to control power grid stability. Very promising and important technology in terms of electric vehicles connected with Smart Grid is the Vehicle-to-everything (V2X) which is discussed in third part of the article. Firstly, basic information like principles, advantages and disadvantages are given. Afterwards, application of V2X introduced by company BMW is described to demonstrate an actual utilization of this technology.
