Abstract

Since, ATM machines are installed at public locations, high security is required at user end as well as banking system’s end. Research on various security mechanisms have been implemented, but in particular, still there is need of more work for providing solution to the problems like coerced or duress cash withdrawals. In this paper, an introduction of Safe Mode Alarm Reporting Technique (SMART) for ATMs has been introduced with the study focused on the acceptance of this novice technology by different stakeholders. The analysis of the proposed Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been revised after thorough analysis of the model. NetBeans IDE with java programming language is used for system’s interface prototype design. The system’s acceptance survey is performed through questionnaire method. Hypothesis with variable’s dependency model is designed. The survey and analysis is done in accordance to the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The PSPP open source statistical analysis tool is used for reliability and hypothesis testing.
