Abstract

AbstractWater conservation is a must in smart cities; however the solutions available are inadequate. It causes a lot of difficulties when it comes to providing water to areas where the population density is high. The traditional residential water distribution system has numerous flaws that are yet to be addressed. In addition to that, they also lack a good mechanism for effectively monitoring their water consumption, which has resulted in water scarcity. This innovation is India’s first hybrid cross-pipeline system, which is also the crux of our innovation. The digitalization of water distribution has created a platform for the term “smart.” The conventional tap system has been restructured, and a multiple nozzle tap system has been introduced in a simpler manner in this project. This device may also keep track of how much water is consumed per residence. Smart tap is introduced to monitor the usage and reduce the flow of water as and when it is required. Excess water is also saved in the reservoir. The mobile application helps in monitoring of the water levels in tanks and consumption rate and control of automated valves. This method can be utilized to conserve water in households in smart cities.KeywordsWater conservationSmart citiesCross pipelineWater consumptionSmart tap
