Abstract
The automobile industry has been growing, and so are the technologies needed to evolve the ease and complexity in designing and manufacturing. With the ever-growing need for productivity, cost-effectiveness, regeneration, etc., manufacturers are raising their standard in research and development wings, process chains, functionality, and whatnot, by developing innovative tools and models in lieu of providing better results. Additive manufacturing of automobile components by 3D printing is a key development that generates parts with the highest accuracy, utmost precision, and almost zero material wastage. It is a fabrication methodology with numerous advantages, such as rapid prototyping, bulk customization, liberty in designing, and construction of complicated profiles. This emerging technology has been implemented in various industries, such as medical, textile, building, aerospace, automobile, etc. This state-of-the-art review provides comprehension of additive manufacturing and its implementation and developments in the automobile sector. This study provides a summary of applications, improvements, and future potentials of 3D nano-printing in automotive parts.
