Abstract

Small tumors are an emerging problem that isincreasing from the epidemiological point of view mainly due toscreening programs, but also to the particular concern about theimportance of earlier breast cancer diagnosis by new generations ofwomen. There is an urgent need to try to understand whether thesetumors are biologically similar to those clinically detected becausenowadays treatments may not be equally indicated in these tumors.One example may be derived by the article recently published byCurigliano et al.
