Abstract

Due to the integration of exponential load in the test system, instability characteristics has occurred, which is a critical problem. In this paper, the exponential load is considered as Electric Vehicle (EV). The small-signal stability is considered and analyzed based on eigenvalue analysis with the integration of EV load. Due to exponential load, the test system has undergone instability due to a low damping torque. The Doubly fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Farm (WF) is added to the test system that is reduced the inertia of the system by less involvement of Synchronous Generators (SGs). It results in the stability that is changed from instability to a stable region. This work also studied that Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is integrated into Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) of SGs to provided additional damping. The test system is analyzed and compared with and without DFIG based WF and controller. The proposed cases and controller effect are studied using the two-area test system for robustness and effectiveness.
