Abstract
A distinction is drawn between open and closed small helical antennas. The polarization of the former may be made circular only in the plane; orthogonal to is axis. Elsewhere it is in general elliptical, but becomes linear for one direction in spoeo determined by its circumferential longth in wavelengths. Comparative expressions for the pattern and radiation resistance of the small closed helical antenna are also given.
