Abstract
A special proportional counter for counting of ultra-low activities of 37Ar was developed. A mixture of argon and carbon dioxide was used as a working gas. The discrimination factor of the external γ-radiation was measured. The results obtained show that these counters can be used for counting of ultra-low activities of 37Ar in a chlorine-argon experiment aiming at the detection of solar neutrinos.
