Abstract

A stacked planar monopole, consisting of a top-loaded element and a parasitic square element, is presented. Its broad bandwidth may be optimized further by cutting two linear slots in the parasite. A size reduction of ∼80% is obtained compared with a conventional square planar monopole. The gain and radiation patterns are also given in this paper. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
