Abstract
This paper describes two dedicated solutions for small area network interconnections: router and bridge. The router and the bridge are designed for embedded applications based on microcontrollers of the types 8051 and 8044. Considered communication protocols are NBIP and Bitbus. The paper deals with the software side of the solution and concentrates on internetwork-routing algorithm implementations.
