Abstract

The reflection method of determining the antenna efficiency using overmoded cavities is treated. Two types of cavities are used, one is a rectangular waveguide with sliding shorts, and the other is a cubic cavity with a mode stirrer. Both cavities tend to show low efficiency notches near the cutoff frequencies of higher order modes.
