Abstract

Pores in a graphite coating of fuel particles were studied by small-angle neutron scattering. Small-angle scattering curves for individual coated fuel particles (CFPs) and a set of CFPs were measured. Their processing detected pores in CFP coatings. Their characteristic sizes and the specific pore volume were determined. The applicability of this technique for studying and nondestructive testing of atomic engineering materials was shown.
