Abstract

In this paper the problem of slow rotation of a sphere about a diameter in a non-Newtonian Reiner-Rivlin fluid has been discussed. It is found that the cross-viscous coefficientμ c has a critical value. Ifμ c is less than this value, the fluid behaves in a similar fashion as an ordinary Newtonian viscous fluid. But ifμ c is greater than this, the phenomenon is partially reversed.
