Abstract

The slow magnetization dynamics in magnetic thin films has been investigatedin this paper. It is shown that the experimental results of the time-dependentmagnetization can be well described by the extended exponential function,exp(−(t/τ)β) with β>0, in a number of thin film systems. By investigating the characteristics of the magnetizationprocess and examining the limitations of the present models, an explanation is providedbased on the structural and dynamical properties of the magnetic domains. Meanwhile,some questions have been clarified in the study towards understanding the magnetizationrelaxation phenomenon in thin films.
