Abstract

AbstractA mononuclear 8‐coordinate Fe(II) compound, [FeII(L1)2](CF3SO3)2 (1), was prepared from the reaction of a neutral tetradentate ligand (L1=N2,N9‐dibutyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline‐2,9‐dicarboxamide) and hydrated Fe(CF3SO3)2 in MeOH. 1 could be considered as an ‘ideal’ 8‐coordinate Fe(II) compound as compared with the previously reported Fe(II) analogs, because all the terminal Fe−O bond lengths are in the normal range. The magnetic properties investigation shows that 1 exhibit field‐induced slow magnetic relaxation behavior.
