Abstract
A new media access control protocol for slotted CDMA in a cellular environment is proposed. By introducing a novel resource contention/reservation mechanism based on multicode access, the proposed protocol outperforms conventional ones in the special CDMA environment. Simulation results reveal that the considerable performance improvement can be attributed to the modification of the contention/reservation mechanism and corresponding system parameters. The leading status is kept, no matter how the traffic load is distributed.
