Abstract

This paper examines the use of some differential formulae in the context of surface texture profile analysis. After a theoretical analysis, their behaviour on real profiles was studied. It is shown that simple models of real profiles are adequate to predict the observed behaviour and so allow a judgement to be made on the accuracies of the formulae under real conditions.
