Abstract

Improving data rate in the presence of the inter-symbol interference (ISI) is one of the main challenging issues in molecular communication via diffusion-based (MCvD) systems. In this paper, a slope-based detection scheme is proposed, which acts based on the behavior of the steepest part of the channel impulse response (CIR) in the presence of the ISI. The impacts of the receiver volume ( V R $V_{R}$ ), number of the released molecules, and relative symbol interval ( R S I $RSI$ ) on the performance of bit error rate ( B E R $BER$ ) is investigated. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed slope-based detection scheme effectively improves the accuracy of the data detection in the low and the high data rate communications in comparison with similar works.
