Abstract
This article proposes Sliding Mode Control (SMC) based control algorithm designed for Hybrid Converter. A single switch-based hybrid converter with a single DC input architecture delivers both DC and AC output supplying appropriate loads. A hybrid converter is obtained from conventional inverting Buck-Boost converter topology, also known as Inverting Buck-Boost derived Hybrid Converter (IBBDHC).Augmented Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation employed to control IBBDHC. The amplitude of the modulating signal's AC component controls the AC output voltage, while the modulating signal's DC component controls the DC output voltage primarily. The converter uses a single switch, and the PI controller is used to control AC output by generating m <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">ac</inf> whereas Nonlinear Controller SMC is used to control DC output voltage by generating dc offset d. Capacitor voltage ripple is minimal in the simulated result. Furthermore, the AC output voltage has a lower THD value of less than 4.8 %, according to the IEEE-519 distribution network standard, which is acceptable for the majority of single-phase AC loads. Finally, Matlab simulations are used to verify the findings.
