Abstract

It's hardly surprising to learn that we are getting less sleep today than every generation that went before us. Omnipresent technology and ‘on-call’ lifestyles which show little sign of slowing down are robbing us and our children of one of the most basic and important human needs and there are some serious physical and mental health consequences. There is light at the end of the tunnel though as research shows that quality sleep, when observed, delivers physical and mental health advantages as well as significant performance rewards.
