Abstract
The article reviews the research activity of Ivan P. Liprandi (1790-1880) on South Slavs and points out his role in disseminating knowledge about the South Slavic peoples. The paper also gives a general overview of Liprandi’s Slavic heritage in the Russian archives and libraries. It identifies the main directions of the forthcoming comprehensive study of Liprandi’s Slavic research activity.
