First-hand accounts are by far one of richest and most accurate methods of qualitatively collecting data. An in-depth look into the oppressed and complicated lives of slaves is certainly a story best told by the people that lived it. Slave narratives have proven to provide some of the most intimate details of Black lives during slavery.
