Abstract

I present Slappability, a new metaphor for Human-Computer Interaction. I suggest that the common unidimensional approach taken by user-environments is undesirable, and that various views and techniques need to be unified, in order to yield more comprehensive and comprehensible software systems. The approach is demonstrated by reference to a system for manipulating music and sound on a computer.
