Abstract

Slackline is an adventure sport whose goal is to balance on a nylon ribbon and which, in recent years, has been gaining more and more fans around the world. This article discusses the benefits and applicability of this innovative sport as a content of school physical education, justifying the physical and social benefits obtained from this sport for the training of students and that adventure sports should be worked on in the curriculum of schools, as they are also part of the body culture of movement. The field work consisted of a questionnaire with 10 questions and had the participation of 15 teachers from different schools (public and private) in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro who have worked or work with slackline in their classes. Through research, it was found that Slackline, despite being a new modality and there are few studies on the sport, its practicality and benefits for physical education classes for children and adolescents are proven and, therefore, should be part of the school curriculum.
