Abstract

Although reef-building corals play an important role in the global marine ecosystem, there emerges a huge lack of omics data as well as databases from these species, exerting negative effects on exploring their biology. Here we introduce the construction of SKLB CoralBioinfo database series ( http://bmeonline.cn/coralbioinfo ), which integrate our new multi-omics sequencing data from various main reef-building coral species with other existing coral bio-data. Main-database CoralBioinfo storing basic bioinformatics data lay the foundation for down-stream analysis and development, while sub-databases CoralmiR and CoralSym constitute reef-building coral miRNA dataset together to pave the way for cross-kingdom regulation research. Embedded with multiple web services, SKLB CoralBioinfo is expected to fulfil the “data gap” and help the scientific community deepen understanding of coral biology.
