Skin-to-Skin Care in the Operating Room

Abstract

Proposed Change To develop the MOMH program for opiate addicted mothers and dependent infants. Responsibility for pregnancy addiction was transferred from our mental health facility to our maternity division for access to obstetric inpatient care and fetal monitoring. Because of the patients’ complex and underserved needs, we established new practices, communication patterns, and skills with our inpatient and outpatient colleagues in the areas of addiction medicine, perinatology, neonatology, family medicine, social work, pharmacy, outpatient treatment centers, community drug board, children services, and legal service providers.
