Abstract

Allergy skin prick testing (SPT) is commonly used in the evaluation of food allergy (FA). In cases of anaphylaxis, there is practice variability regarding the appropriate timing of SPT post reaction. Some providers test shortly after anaphylaxis, while others defer SPT due to a potential refractory period and resulting false negative (FN) results, as described in venom and perioperative anaphylaxis.
